Ray L. Siers, 87, of Chloe, West Virginia, passed away April 18, 2008 at Miletree Health Care Center, Spencer, WV, following a brief illness.
Born in Calhoun County, WV, he was a son of the late James L. and Alice Butler Siers. He was retired from Union Carbide Company and was a US Army Veteran of WWII, where he served in the infantry in the Philippine Islands and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Siers of Chloe and Janice Forney of Temple, Texas; a step son, Ernest Edgell of Richlands, Virginia; two sisters, Nell Jarvis of Spencer, and Verba King of Ohio; a brother, Shirley Siers of Charleston, WV; 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
He was married to Ruby Metz Siers June 10, 1958 who preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, April 21 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Monday.
