Anna Sampson, Calhoun High's most proficient runner, has been selected from the junior class to attend the Governor's Honors Academy held on the Bethany College campus in July.
Over 180 top-achieving students from West Virginia schools are selected to attend the academy each year.
Sampson met a number of critical criteria to be selected to attend the academy.
The mission of the academy is to operate an academically rich environment designed to honor high achieving students in an institution of higher education, challenging students to grow intellectually and creatively in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
