There's always "Home Spun Fun" at the Wood Festival

The 46th Annual Calhoun County Wood Festival brings more thrills this year with a flashback to the 60's.

"Home Spun Fun" is the theme for this year's Festival.

Country Music, Bluegrass, Folk, Alternative along with Square Dancing will also be featured on the main street stage Saturday afternoon.

The Grand Parade starts at 11 a.m.

Go back in time to celebrate the era surrounding the early years of the festival. For those Calhoun natives from the 60's and 70's there is a special treat, with a rock and roll flashback.

Remember the Cycos, Purple Haze, The BSA Band, The Light, Major Dangerfield, and others?

Tonight's rock-n-roll reunion features Dixie Moon at 7:30 p.m. on the main street stage.

Dangerfield will do a Beatles retro-show starting at 9:30 p.m.

Dixie Moon and Dangerfield is sponsored by the Traders Guide.

Mud Boggin' - always a festival favorite

The Mud Bog, a Wood Festival favorite returns this year with registration beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Industrial Park. The action will begin at 1 p.m. This sanctioned event brings trucks from all over the region. The "multiple pit" set-up is unique to the Wood Festival. There will be a $5 gate fee.
