A Westover man, 37-year-old William "Skip" Weaver III, was found lying in the middle of Route 19 Sunday night after colliding with a Ford Explorer.
Police say Weaver, who was not wearing a helmet, pulled his ATV in front of the SUV at an intersection on the busy highway near the Mon-Marion County line.
Following the crash several fellow ATV riders left the scene, leaving Weaver fatally injured.
Police say the occupants of the SUV and other good samaritans stopped to try and help Weaver.
He was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died.
