Starting on January of 2009, all drivers in West Virginia will have to pass a vision test before their licenses to drive are renewed.
The tests will only take a few minutes, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The tests are the same as teens must pass when they first receive their licenses.
It is a process of looking into a machine and indicating that you can identify numbers and letters.
Governor Joe Manchin signed the change into law last week, a measure state lawmakers approved during this year's regular legislative session.
West Virginia is one of nine states in the country that currently does not require a vision test for license renewals.
