Flaurel Roberts Garred, 93, of Spencer died Nov. 4, 2001, in
Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 14, 1908, in Zona, a daughter of the late Silas and Pearl Mae
Bradley Lupardus. She was also preceded in death by: her first husband, Burl
Roberts; her second husband, Owen H. "Pete" Garred.
She formerly worked at DePue Hospital and was a homemaker, a member of
Mount Herman Church and attended First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: three daughters, Betty Roberts Davis and Burldena Roberts
Epling, both of Spencer, Barbara Roberts Seaman of Tucson, Ariz.; three
grandchildren, Kathryn Seaman Keen and L. D. Epling, both of Spencer, Susan
Burfield of Parkersburg; five great-grandchildren, Staci Cowgar of Columbus,
Ohio, Tracy Cowger Eddy of Travis Air Force Base, California, Katie Cowgar
and Nathaniel Staats, both of Parkersburg, Ethan Epling of Spencer.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home,
Spencer, with the Rev. James Epling officiating. Burial will be in Spencer
Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
