Olaf Bohn is a seventeen-year-old exchange student from Stuttgart, Germany, now attending Calhoun High School.
He has been staying with his host family Tony and Jenny Richards and children Beth, Eva and Matthew.
Olaf said he wanted to be a foreign exchange student to learn better English and have some new experiences.
When asked what he thinks of Calhoun and West Virginia he says, "Trees and mountains everywhere. If you look out a window, it looks a lot prettier, that's for sure. I like it, but I wouldn't want to live here forever. I'd probably like to live here when I wouldn't have to work."
Olaf says most students at CHS don't like school, but he doesn't think it's that bad, saying it is easier to earn good grades here than in Germany.
He says his school schedule in Germany repeats every week, not every day, with important classes like math, German and English scheduled three times a week.
His German school doesn't have many activities. "If you want extra activity, you normally go into some kind of club and it is done outside of school," he said.
Olaf has played guitar in a rock band.
