BB GUN HEIST - A Sissonville High School student was arrested for allegedly robbing three students of their money after school using a BB gun.
The 17-year-old male student used the BB gun which police said was "authentic looking.
The juvenile was released to his family on a $5,000 bond.
WOMEN SENTENCED 40 YEARS IN STABBING - A Rand woman, who prosecutors say killed a man because he refused to pay her for sex, has received the maximum sentence for his second-degree murder.
Monique Nicole Weldon, 31, was convicted in February of fatally stabbing 37 year old Johnnie Lee Coon, Sr. at a Rand trailer last December.
The judge rejected Weldon's request for a lenient sentence so that she could spend time with her four children.
DAUGHTER SAYS DAD WAS A SAVIOR, BUT... - Despite a daughter's plea that her father was her savior when he shot her husband to death, a judge sentenced Michael Brisendine to 15 years in prison for killing Teddy Pauley,30, in 2006.
Brisendine, 59, shot and killed his son-in-law in anger at a family gathering on New Year's Eve.
Bresendine and his daughter testified that Pauley had often exhibited physical abuse.
Brisendine apologized, saying "I'm deeply sorry."
"I was married to him for eight years, and they were the worst eight years of my life," the victim's wife told the judge. "I was living in hell. My father was my savior."
She said her father was a "decent man who had no choice but to do what he did."
