| Earnest Newlon Lane, 89, of Nicut Community, Rosedale, West Virginia, passed away march 18, 2008 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
Born at Nicut, he was a son of the late Jim and Ida Metz Lane. He was a heavy equipment operator on pipeline construction and was a retired member of the Operating Engineers Union of Barberton, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Jones Lane and four sons, Shirley Gale Lane of Illinois, Jack Lane, Timothy Lane and Larry Lane all of Nicut; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Gumm of Nicut and Sandra K. Beitz of Williamstown; one brother, Carl Lane of Fairmont; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 son and 5 brothers.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in the Lane Family Cemetery at Nicut.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. |
