WOMAN SHOT WITH ARROW - A Cameron, Marshall County woman was airlifted to a Morgantown hospital after she was shot with an arrow during an accident at a shooting range.

According to Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputies, the 63-year-old-woman was accidentally shot at the Cameron Indoor Bow Range.

Deputies said all shooters on the range at that time had been ordered to hold their fire, as the woman was about to walk in.

As a 14-year-old boy aimed his bow to the floor, it accidentally discharged, the arrow ricocheted off the floor and struck the woman through the neck.

Officers said the woman was alert and standing up when they arrived.

Surgeons at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown removed the arrow from her neck.

WHEELING MAN FATALLY SHOT - A man who died in Wheeling Sunday of a fatal gunshot wound has been identified as 27-year-old Cleveland resident Eric L. Crayton.

Crayton was murdered Sunday in South Wheeling. A second gunshot victim isn't helping investigators, police said.

Crayton died from a gunshot wound to the upper abdomen, according to Wheeling Police Department.

He was brought to the hospital at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday by a 23-year-old Dayton, Ohio, man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.

Authorities said the Dayton man initially dropped off Crayton at the hospital, but returned to seek treatment for his own gunshot wound.

WOMAN CHARGED WITH STABBING - A man offered a hitchhiker a ride and ended up getting stabbed in Raleigh County.

Nicole Renee Bennett, 23, of Beckley, was charged with malicious wounding and is being held at Southern Regional Jail on $25,000 bond.

Billy Forest Goins, 38, of Beckley, said he picked up a female hitchhiker on Eisenhower Drive in Beckley around 2 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

The two then traveled to Shriver Avenue in Raleigh while they were talking, Bennett allegedly stabbed Goins several times — twice in the chest, once in the arm and once in the face.

Goins said he did not know the woman.

Deputies believe the stabbing was drug-related.
