Ray Elmore Metz, 99 of Spencer, WV, died Wednesday, October 24, 2001, at Eldercare of West
Virginia, in Ripley.
He was born December 9, 1901, at Leatherbark, Calhoun County, a son of the late William and
Minnie Price Metz. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Harold E. Metz of Barberton, Ohio and several grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Opha B. Pursley Metz in 1998
and four sons, Don, Gene, John and Allen Metz; several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services were held Friday, October 26 at the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Leatherbark.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
