| Elwood B. "Cub" "Bubblegum Man" Koon, 84, of Clinton, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, died February 26, 2008.
He was a son of the late Samuel and Melissa Starcher Coon. He was retired from Rockwell International and was a WW II Army Veteran, a member of DAV Stadleman Post #35, Columbus Post #888 American Legion, and a charter member of the V.F.W. Post #5783 in Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Deloris May.
Survivors include son, Mike; daughters, Sharon (Bob) Lindeman and Melissa (Jim) Varrecchia; grandchildren, Robert (Leighann), Kayanna (Bill), April (Donnie), Sarah Jane and Craig; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Cody, Rebecca, Hanna; and Mike's fiancée, Judy and her children, Tonya, Justin and Joey.
A funeral service, with military honors accorded by members of Roane County veterans groups, will be conducted Sunday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Koon Cemetery, Spencer.
