Merle Gertrude Hensley, 90, of Hurricane, previously of Clay County, entered into rest on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.
Born on Jan. 25, 1918, in Mudfork, Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Mamie M. Cadle and Clarence White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Lou Brannon and Etta Lana Hensley two sisters, Alta Cross Mathews and "Bid" Wilma Cross Postalwait.
She was a member of Mudfork Union Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Robert E. Martin and Carol and Bernie O. Young; brothers, C. Don Cross, Dorse Cross and Vertis White; sister, Mildred White Simmons; grandchildren, Robin Martin Kilgore and husband, Mark, Paul Martin and wife, Sandra, Todd Young and wife, Mary, Martin Young and wife, Kisscha, Lynn Young Kennedy and husband, Michael, and Sean Young and wife, Tianna; and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Kilgore, Jonathan Kilgore, Michaela Young, Ethan Young, Hunter Young, Hannah Young, Logan Kennedy, Tanner Kennedy, Jordyn Young and Addison Young.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Hardman Cemetery, Nebo, with Ministers Darius Arnold and Donal Dawson officiating.
Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, is in charge of arrangements.
