Allan Kent Taylor, 52, of Newton, West Virginia, died Monday, February 11, 2008, at his home, after a sudden illness.
He was born Thursday, May 26, 1955, in Charleston, a son of the late Cecil C. and Cleo G. Hensley Taylor, Sr.
Allan was an employee of SGS Minerals, Fola Coal Division, Bickmore. He was the lead guitarist, vocalist and one of the founding members of the Black Mountain Band. Also, he was a 1973 graduate of Spencer High School.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Anne McGuire Taylor of Newton; son and daughter-in-law, Ariel and Staci Taylor of Clay; daughter, Rachel Stalnaker of Newton; brothers, Cecil C. Taylor, Jr. of Dumfries, VA and Ronald K. Taylor of Newton.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 14 in the Newton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert A. "Bob" Keen officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer and one hour prior to the service at the church.
