Mary Jo Merzweiler Mihelich, 64, of Alice Rd. Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born January 4, 1944 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Richard Paul and Agnes P. Blake Merzweiler.
Mary Jo was a high school graduate and then became an LPN having worked at hospitals in the Akron area, Roane General Hospital, and Sunbridge Health Care. She attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Glenville. She loved crafting and was former owner of Heavenly Stitches in Glenville.
Surviving are her companion of 23 years, Gary Rose of Glenville, former Gilmer County Sheriff; 3 daughters, 1 son, and 1 stepson, Robin Ritter and husband Brian, and Mary Agnes Hosey all of Glenville, Vickie Cain and husband Mark of Mt. Zion, WV, Frank J. Mihelich and wife Vanessa of Akron, and Brad Rose and wife Michelle of Newark, Ohio; brother, Richard M. Merzweiler of Akron; sister, Paula Drope of Suffield; and 14 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mary Jo is preceded in death by a, daughter, Tammy Mihelich.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2008 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Glenville with Father Edwin Daschbach SVD as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery at Camden.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Ellyson Mortuary, 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, West Virginia.
