Mozelle Hickman, 87, of Gay, West Virginia, died Friday, February 1, 2008, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.
She was born Sunday, August 15, 1920, in Kanawha County, the daughter of the late Mickey and Beatrice Hudson Halstead, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville H. Hickman.
Mozelle was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer and a former member of the Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Charleston.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sybil Hickman of Gay, Sherry and John Lake also of Gay; grandsons, Darien Hickman of Pear Land, TX, Jared "Clay" Lake of Clarksville, TN and Christian "Chris" Lake of Lee's Summit, MO; four great grandsons, one great granddaughter and two sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gay.
Friends may call Monday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
