Charlie Duskey was recognized this week for his 25 years of service as the county's Democrat Ballot Commissioner.
County Clerk Richard Kirby presented Duskey with a certificate following his resignation from the position.
The 87-year-old decided to "hang it up," saying "My hearing is getting pretty bad and I think a younger person can take over now."
Duskey, one of Calhoun's WWII vets, served as Democrat county chairperson two times in the 1960s.
