Welcome back to my little place in the paper. I appreciate all the kind words and email I get from you all. I never thought in a million years that my little article would gain so much attention. Hopefully, I will continue to provide you with some proof that, indeed, things can be worse. For example, put a Does-Not-Camp-Does-Not-Farm kind of girl in a very agricultural setting, does not paint a very pretty picture. I think Paul Harvey would have a total field day on my life here on the farm.
I don't' know about anyone else, but I have enough of the delays and school closings. How is any Mom supposed to recover from Christmas vacation like this? Any more days off, rest assured I will be on some serious medication. There's only so much Shrek 3, Mrs. Doubtfire and Star Wars I can take in one day. If they're not fighting about movies at home, they take the issue to the car. I used to like getting in the car and going for a drive. Now, its not sane anywhere. At one time I thought those portable DVD's were blessings. At the present time, I am not sure where I got that notion. Remember those days when there were no DVD's and kids were just supposed to enjoy the ride? What happened to those days? I can remember playing "I Spy" and the infamous VW Bug game. That was enough for us back then. My kids would freak out if, God forbid, the DVD players did not work. At this point, I am dreading that time as well.
My Aunt and I went over to the Spencer Wal-Mart on Sunday afternoon. We had a really good time catching up and trying to figure out what the noise was that my car was making. I was informed today that it was my brakes about to go AWOL. Not cool. Anyway, I found myself checking the shoes out on the clearance section. My two favorite words in life, "shoes" and "clearance." Put those two words together and my life has just gotten better. Apparently, I am not hard to please.
My Uncle is looking for some hay in round bales. If anyone knows of any for sale, please let me know. He has billions of cows (well, maybe not, but anything over 5 cows is billions to me) that are going to be freezer material if they don't have more hay. It wouldn't break my heart if they headed toward the frozen pasture of Heaven, but, I do know my Uncle loves his cows. One of those "Yoak" things I guess, I didn't get any of those genes.
Wrestling is still on for another month or so. We have enjoyed watching all the kids put their practice to the test. There are several that give 200% every time. I think that's great they have such drive and enthusiasm toward the sport. If we all had that same drive and enthusiasm toward world issues, this world would be a lot nicer place to live. Well, our children are the future. So, maybe they will bring about a new world of peace.
If anyone has any news or birthdays, please let me know. I am sure not everyone wants to hear about my life every single week. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy voicing my opinion and sharing my agricultural tales. There is nothing more entertaining than one of my farm horror stories, is there?
Health and happiness.
