Spencer Middle School traveled to Mt. Zion Thursday evening to take on Calhoun Middle School Girls in basketball.
CMS A-team jumped out front early and never looked back, defeating Spencer 59-6. Every player scored on the A-team in this one.
Leading the attack was Savannah Church with 22, Amber Wilford popped in 16, Kenzie Laughlin 7, Tangie Cain 6, Rochelle Gerwig 5, Brittany Norman 2, and Chelsea Heery 1.
CMS B-team was down 12-5 at the half, and down 16-11 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth, they battled back and tied the game at 17 sending the game into overtime.
Shayla Arnold and Carlena Craddock hit one foul shot a piece in overtime to help CMS B-team defeat Spencer 19-17, there 2nd win of the season. Leading for CMS B-team was Shayla Arnold with 8, Carlena Craddock 5, Brittany Norman 4, and Ali Gumbarevic with 2.
CMS Girls next 2 games will be home on Tuesday against Wirt, and Wednesday against Clay.
