Geneva F. Sears, 85, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Long Term Care following an extended illness.
She was born September 24, 1922 at Cabot Station, daughter of the late Elijah and Suddie Nester.
Geneva was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She enjoyed her friends, her church, and her flowers, including her famous displays of pink petunias on her porch each summer.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonja Cain of Grantsville; a granddaughter, Dawn Mullins (Jeff) of Charleston, WV; and a grandson, Douglas Cain (Marlene) of Wallback, WV; also surviving are 2 great grandsons, Matt and Michael Mullens.
Geneva was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Nester, sister-in-law, Wilma Nester, and a nephew, Mitchel Nester.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 18 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville. Pastor Mary Zimmer will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. the day of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to MHHS Long Term Care Activity Fund, 186 Hospital Drive, Grantsville, WV 26147.
