Hanna Law will compete for Miss WV State Fair and Festival Queen this week-end in Charleston during the WV Fairs and Festivals Convention.
Hanna will be in competition with approximately 100 girls representing every Fair and Festival in the state of West Virginia.
Miss Law has represented the Calhoun Wood Festival during her reign this year and will represent the festival during the Queen Competition in Charleston. Hanna also represented the Calhoun Wood Festival as the 2006 Queen Flora XLIV.
The Wood Festival committee and community members wish Hanna the best of luck! Members of this year's festival committee will be on hand to support Hanna in her bid for the state title.
Hanna is the daughter of Danny and Alicia Law of Five Forks.
West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant will be held January 10-13 at the Charleston Civic Center.
Young women representing various fairs and festivals from throughout the state will compete. The pageant consists of four areas of competition - event promotion, streetwear, personal interview and evening gown.
Competition will begin Friday with streetwear competition. Contestants will be judged on natural beauty, poise and presentation, and the event promotion, where contestants will be judged on a 30-second presentation about their event.
Saturday events include interviews and evening gown competition. Poise, personality and natural beauty are considered by the judges.
At the conclusion of the fourth phase of competition, Saturday evening, 15 semi-finalists will be chosen and interviewed, with one being crowned as the 2008 West Virginia Fairs and Festivals Queen.
The Queen will reign over the West Virginia State Fair, to be held in Lewisburg, August 10-18.
