| Sybil C. Valentine, 96, of Barboursville, West Virginia, formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington.
She was born September 5, 1911, at Walton, Roane County, a daughter of the late Holly Hughes and Della Myrtle Walker Bonnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buell Cloval Valentine, May 22, 1999; one brother, Nathan Bonnett.
Sybil was a homemaker and mother. She was a graduate of Walton High School, a member and Sunday school teacher at the Speed United Methodist Church, Speed and a long time resident of Roane County.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Valentine of Huntington and Jerry Valentine of Milford, OH; one sister, Sylvia Byrd of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Charles L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery, Speed. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
