Janie M. Maze Champ, 92, of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 14, 2001, at the
Camden-Clark Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1909, in Calhoun County, daughter of the late William
Maze and Bertha Cunningham Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of
the Hour of Faith Tabernacle Church of Parkersburg. She enjoyed flowers,
quilting and was a very faithful member of the church.
She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Pauline and Billy Deem of
Parkersburg; two sons, Denzil Champ of Parkersburg, and Donsel Champ and
his wife, Frieda of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren, Kimberly Shaffer of Ritchie
County, Sandra Shaffer of the U.S. Airforce, Dwayne and Joette Shaffer of
Wirt County, Teresa and Tom Schreckengost of Petteville, Beverly and Tony
Moore, Maria Shaffer, Kevin and Gretta Champ, Denzil Keith, Kalvin, Kenny
and Kristi Champ all of Parkersburg, Billie Joe and Kim Champ of Texas,
Bonnie and Jose Espinosa of New Mexico, and Clark Champ of California; and
15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred
Leroy Champ; one brother, Bernard Maze; and one granddaughter, Karen Sue
Champ.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home
of south Parkersburg, with Elder Clair R. Ruble officiating. Interment will follow
in Big Springs Cemetery of Calhoun County. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home. |
