| Violet O. Harper, 97, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, formerly of Walton, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at home.
She was born May 5, 1910, at Mattie, Roane County, the daughter of the late William H. Coleman and the late Louella Mae Hunt Jarvis Short. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oral Harper; son, Bob; daughters, JoAnn Goff and Deane Bowles.
Violet was a former employee of Roane County Community Action and a former sales person for Kyle Furniture, Charleston.
Survivors include sons, Jack of Baltimore, Ohio, Bill of Charleston and Teddy of Gandeeville; daughters, Betty Mason of Frankford and Kathy Springston of Martinsburg; caregiver and friend, David Pettry of Gandeeville; 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Robert Hargus officiating. Burial will be in the Harper-Hunt Cemetery, Gandeeville. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. |
