ONE DEAD, FIVE ARRESTED IN SALEM SHOOTING - Police responded to a call last weekend in Salem, discovering the body of 42 year old William Lewis Griffith dead inside a home.

Five people have now been arrested in connection with the shooting.

James Stewart, Kevin Washington, Danni Bohnenkamp and Brandy Freeman are in the North Central Regional Jail; each charged with murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.

A 16 year-old boy is also charged with the same three counts.

Chief Albert Morano of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department says he believes the cause of the shooting was drug related.

MAN ARRESTED FOR HARDEE'S MURDERS - Sergeant Pat McCarty of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department has arrested William A. Boggs for the vicious stabbing of two people at the Hardees Restaurant on Route 19 in 2005.

Boggs was arraigned in Mason County and was brought back to Harrison County.

He is charged with two counts of first degree murder for reportedly stabbing and cutting Heather Conner, 24, and Michael Muller, 46.

MAN SHOOTS-UP NEIGHBORS HOUSE - A Summers County man has been jailed on charges of firing at least 11 rounds from a shotgun and two rifles into his neighbor's house.

Three people were inside.

Douglas Gill, 49, of Hinton, was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment, sheriff's Deputy T.J. Cochran said.

He is being held at Southern Regional Jail with arraignment pending.

Cochran said he responded to a "shots fired" with a number of other officers. He said he could hear gunfire coming from across the street.

The officers then found Gill standing in the street and shooting at a next-door neighbor's house.

Police approached Gill as he was headed back to his residence and attempting to reload.

Officers ordered him to drop his gun, but Gill continued reloading and walking back to his house.

After a final command, he dropped the gun, but then became physically combative and resisted as officers tried to arrest him.

Police said Gill had earlier shot the neighbor's house with two rifles — a .300 Winchester "Winmag" and a World War II-era .308 caliber bolt action — from his own house.

He then shot the neighbor's house with a 12-gauge shotgun from the street, aiming at the front of the neighbor's house.

One man in the house was struck by debris, receiving numerous cuts to his chest and arms.

Police said Gill was "extremely intoxicated" and was not taking his prescribed medication.

The shooting did $2,500 to $3,000 in damage to the neighbor's house.

The criminal complaint says Harman suffered stab wounds to his leg and back.

He was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, where he underwent surgery.
