Glen Siers stopped by for a visit with Daddy and I and we all went out to feed the pigs and look at the roosters. Glen said that his son Bill and grandson Nick from Liberty, SC visited with him over the deer season break. Also Todd, Genie and Ariah Bailey went to Glen's for a cook-out while his guests were there. Everyone had a good time.
Scott and Gay Bailey brought Ray and I lots of turnips. Daddy likes them really well. As they pulled in the drive way, Ray and I were headed out to gather the pigs who had gotten out of their pen. They went to the garden and then on up into the road. Gay drove them back, she and Scott just jumped in like old pros to help. We got them in the pen, Blaine King was working fixing the problem. Gay, Scott, Ray and I visited for a little while and then I helped Blaine finished the fence and the pigs haven't been out since.
Blaine asked Scott what he thought about the pigs and Scott said they're not pigs there shoats. It was really a fun visit.
Aunt Juanita called one evening and told me that Edsell and Neil Arnold came to get Juanita and she got to spend time with her sister Marie in Coolville, OH. Marie has a nice little place and they really enjoyed visiting with each other.
I called Aunt Neil to see how she was doing and she told me that her youngest daughter Karen was having another operation on her neck at the Cleveland Clinic. Deloris, Garnett and Aunt Neil drove up to be there with Karen throughout the operation. I truly hope that everything goes well and that she will get completely well and be able to enjoy life more than ever.
Heather has been having trouble with the wood burning furnace. Ben's Dad had a man come and look at it and it seems the draft was clogged up and it's working fine now. This cold weather keeps us all on our toes. Ray and I are looking forward to Heather and Ruby Ann visiting with us Wednesday.
Charles Haverty and his friend Pat Corell from Baltimore stopped by for a short visit. Pat had been deer hunting in Putnam Co. but didn't get the buck he wanted. He said it was magical.
I still need to get a flu shot. Sure hope that I don't have to go through a sickness like that again. Now I'm feeling great again.
Saw the first snow flakes here Monday morning. Like I told Aunt Juanita, when we get older the months go by so fast, so it will be Spring before we know it. Heather is having another daughter Jan. 4th, so she doesn't have long. Those Ruckman girls are going to be something else.
My grand-daughter Cortney called me. It was good and she told me about waiting on the bus in the wind and snow.
Everyone have a wonderful week! |
