(11/24/2007)
A Lost Creek man died from a gun shot wound after hunting.

The Harrison County Sheriff's department and the state Division of Natural Resources are investigating a shooting that left Larry Hayhurst, 54, dead on Friday evening.

Hayhurst apparently died from a gun shot wound to the chest while hunting with a friend.

The friend's gun accidentally went off while he was cleaning it.

Hayhurst died on the scene.

A Marshall County teenage girl is recovering in a Morgantown hospital Sunday after being shot in both legs yesterday.

Moundsville Police said the shooting took place at 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

Sergeant Bill Helms said the 17 year-old girl was shot one time, but the bullet hit each of her legs, just below the knees.

Police say it looks like an accident, but a final determination has not been made.

The boy who shot her told authorities he was trying to take ammunition out of a rifle when the gun went off.

Police say there were several juveniles inside a trailer, no adult present.
