Louise Iris Jarvis, 72, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, in the Country Living Care Home, Arnoldsburg, after an extended illness.
Iris was born July 30, 1935, at Clio, Roane County, a daughter of the late Opie D. and Mable S. Harper Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 30 years, Jack W. Jarvis; two brothers, Doral and Shelton Jackson; one sister, Doris Jackson; and one grandson, Mitchell A. Miller.
She retired as a supervisor from the Kellwood Company, after more than 30 years of service. Also, she was a 1953 graduate of Walton High School, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidering and gardening. Iris was a Christian and a member of the Reedy Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Lea and her husband, Keith Miller of Reedy; two stepsons, Timothy W. and his wife, Karen Lesher Jarvis of Spencer and Michael W. Jarvis of Spencer; one granddaughter, Alyssa J. Miller of Frederick, MD; sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Clyde Gwinn of Ravenswood, Kathleen and Ersel Greenlief of Elkview, Shelby and Ira Gunter of St. Albans, Patricia Schnieder of Columbus, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Corbett and Jean Jackson of Suffolk, VA; sister-in-law, Madeline Jackson of Cooper City, FL; many nieces and nephews; and dedicated caregivers, Robin and Marvin Holstein of Arnoldsburg.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Charles E. Leisure officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. Friday.
