ROANE MAN SUES PHARMACY

(11/17/2007)
The West Virginia Record says a Roane County man has filed a suit against a Clendenin pharmacy after he passed out after being given a larger dosage of medication than he was prescribed.

Edmond Hall and his wife Anna Hall have filed the suit in Kanawha Circuit Court against Clendenin Pharmacy Inc.

Hall claims he went to the pharmacy in April, 2007, with a prescription for a 75mg Duragesic patch.

Hall's suit says he put on a patch and then went driving.

"(Hall) was operating a motor vehicle when he passed out, lost control of his motor vehicle and drove into a creek, severely injuring himself," says the suit.

He allegedly suffered injuries to his head, neck and back and was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center where he was hospitalized.

The suit claims Hall was given a 100mg patch instead of the 75mg he had been prescribed.

He claims to have suffered serious and permanent injuries.
