Orpha Cottrell, 88, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Sunday, November 11, 2007, in Miletree Center, Spencer.
She was born September 18, 1919, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Martha West Brannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Cottrell; brother and sister-in-law, Howard V. and Alice Moore Brannon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Letha and Rosco Simons, Mary Ann and William Rouse, and June Miller.
Orpha was a homemaker and a Christian.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth L. Cottrell of Spencer; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Kenneth Keaton of Orma; brother-in-law, Okey Miller of Newton; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
