Robert A. Vanhorn, 90, of Normantown, West Virginia, formerly of Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, passed away November 11, 2007 at Sunbridge of Salem following a long illness.
Born in Gilmer County, he was a son of the late Scott and Locy Alltop Vanhorn. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific. He was a retired truck operator for Allied Van Lines and also a former employee of the Parkersburg News as a carrier. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenville.
Surviving are his wife, Donaldine Heater Vanhorn, whom he married July 17, 1945; a sister, Edna Turner of Glenville; niece, Rosalie Furr and nephew, Ronald Vanhorn.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. John Vannoy will officiate. Interment will be in the Stalnaker Cemetery at Glenville with Military Graveside Rites.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-noon until time of services Wednesday.
