John Mays, assistant manager at the Spencer Wal-Mart Store, says there is no
foundation to the rumors that Spencer Wal-Mart is closing. Mays said "The store is
doing extremely well and sales are good."
The rumor surfaced in the area this week, apparently linked to reports of recession,
the laying-off of workers and the closing of some businesses around the country.
Mays said the regional manager just reviewed the store and it is doing great.
