Calhoun's Anna Sampson is headed to the state cross country meet this weekend as a Red Devil pioneer -- she is the first CHS runner to advance to the state.
Sampson, a junior, was rated as the No. 30 runner in the state according to RunWV. She was rated 49th in the last rating. She also had the 15th best time in the regionals while advancing to the state.
The Class AA-A girl's competition will be at 12:45 Saturday at Midland Valley High School.
