More than 120 National Guard military police
are the first West Virginia reservists activated
for duty in the wake of the September 11
terrorist attacks.
Governor Wise's office says President Bush
called up 33 soldiers from Moundsville and 91
from Martinsburg Monday. They are part of the
157th Military Police Company.
Wise spokeswoman Amy Shuler Goodwin says
the reservists will leave soon for Fort Benning,
Georgia, where they will get their next
assignment.
Governor Wise is scheduled to join in ceremonies sending
off the troops from their hometowns.
