911 DIRECTOR APPRECIATES HELP DURING LIGHTNING STRIKE

(08/31/2007)
As many Calhoun citizens are aware, the E-911 Center suffered substantial damage to our electronics equipment during the thunderstorm on August 16th.

Due to the efforts of a number of individuals and businesses, the ability to receive emergency calls and dispatch first responders was quickly restored.

Those involved were: The West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management; Mason County E-911; EmergiTech; Miller Communications; Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department; Sheriff Carl Ballengee; The Mt. Zion Pit Stop; and Chief Dispatcher Dick (Burl) Postalwaite.

On behalf of the staff of 911 I would like to thank everyone for helping in many ways to get us through this crisis.

Gary Buchanan, Director
Calhoun County E-911
