Central West Virginia residents are talking about Two-Lane Livin', a new regional magazine that is premiering this week at locations in 13 area counties.
Tagged as "Central West Virginia's Guide to Life," the family-friendly publication includes tips on healthy living, organic gardening, household budgeting, home ownership, travel and more.
The magazine features a regional event calendar for the upcoming months, a full page crossword puzzle, a kid's activity page, music reviews and an advice column.
Two-Lane Livin' also sponsors two monthly contests; a photo contest and a "find the graphic" contest in which readers search for a hidden road sign.
Two-Lane Livin' will be distributed every month, featuring regular
columnists from the local area. Some of the magazine's columnists are
accomplished writers, while others are 'going public' for the first time.
"I can't tell you how much I have learned from these writers, just in the first issue," said Lisa Minney, publisher of Two-Lane Livin'.
"Our columnists are wonderful, funny and knowledgeable folks, and I'm thrilled to have each and every one of them involved in this publication."
Two-Lane Livin' is free to the reader, and is also partially published online. In addition to the usual news racks and counters, Two-Lane Livin' can be found in waiting rooms, senior citizen's centers, court houses, restaurants and laundromats throughout the area.
"There has never been anything like this for Central West Virginia."
Minney said.
"With 10,000 print copies to a region of multiple counties, and
a unique audience due to the free cover price, we're making contact with more Central West Virginia readers than any other local print publication."
