The new Little Kanawha Development Authority is a joint economic
development venture between Wirt and Calhoun County. President Dan
McDonald says the group is now seeking to hire a Community and Economic
Developer to work for the two-county venture.
Funding has been secured from the State of West Virginia and HUD, with
additional monies being sought. Help to create the new agency has been
provided by the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council and the West Virginia
Development Office. The two-county project has allowed more funds to be
available.
The LKADC position to be filled is requiring:
1. Experience in the operation of a non-profit organization, including
administration of federal, state and private grant funding, budgeting and
record keeping.
2. The ability to facilitate economic and community development, through
the development and implementation of projects and programs, grant writing
and identification, and assessment of resources.
3. The ability to work with regional and state organizations to foster good
relations and encourage regional partnerships.
The position is full time. They require 2-3 years experience in a related field
and/or satisfactory combination of education, experience, and training.
