Calhoun County High School's 1962 graduating class held their 45th reunion Saturday at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging center in Grantsville. Thirty-three classmates joined in their first reunion in twenty-five years.
A DVD had been made of pictures from the past along with current pictures submitted by classmates of their families. Each classmate received a copy of the DVD which played throughout the evening along with a CD of 60's music.
A memorial service was held for the eleven classmates who are deceased - Charles Stump, William Kerby, Butch Flemming, Bob Shock, Kay Vanscoy Linville, Blaine Maze, Jim Stump, Dale Knotts, Larry Greathouse, Carl Stump, and Bill Whipkey. A memory board with the classmate's pictures was displayed and a white rose, the class flower, was placed into a vase as each name was read.
Door prizes were drawn throughout the evening and a delicious meal was served by members of the Sunny Cal Gals, Red Society Hat group. After dinner the classmates spent the evening reminiscing about the past 45 years. To close out the evening, Richard Starcher brought out his guitar and the group enjoyed singing along to good ole gospel songs.
The class decided to have another reunion in two years.
