Grantsville firemen rests after entry

By Bob Weaver

Grantsville firemen were able to bring a White Pine Rd. house fire under control Sunday afternoon, after extensive damage to the rear of the structure and the attic.

Pam Robinson said she was wallpapering in the bathroom when the fire broke out, quickly spreading from a room in the rear of the house.

Still, it was heavily damaged, the ceilings and plaster falling and destroying most of the contents.

"We tried really hard to put it out, but it got out of hand," she said.

Three of the family members were taken to MHHS by Calhoun EMS, suffering from smoke inhalation and for evaluation, including Mrs. Robinson, her husband Randy and 14-year-old son Caleb.

They were reportedly treated and released.

68-year-old Randolph Robinson, who is confined to a wheelchair, did not require medical treatment.

The house is located on the back side of Frederick's Trailer Court, off White Pine Road.

The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 1:52 p.m., with the Smithville VFD also responding with four units.

Firemen made entry inside the house with breathing apparatus, also enduring the outside temperature exceeding 90 degrees.

The family is looking for a place to stay, with a loss of nearly all their possessions.
