 A man accused of shooting and killing his wife in Ritchie County has been released from the hospital and taken into custody.
William Lowell Echard Jr., 42, of St. Marys turned the gun on himself in a failed suicide attempt after he allegedly killed his wife, real estate agent Gina Echard, 42, of St. Marys.
Echard has been charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
The couple were reportedly involved in a domestic argument in Ritchie County.
