A teenager who had attended Roane County High School, plead guilty to setting a December fire that destroyed Clendenin's Dollar General Store.
US District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin sentenced 18-year-old Tiara Spencer to five years in federal prison and ordered her to pay more than $600,000 in restitution.
Goodwin sentenced Spencer to the minimum sentence allowed. She is expected to be incarcerated at a Danbury, Connecticut prison that offers a mental health program.
The Clendenin woman admitted in federal court, in April that she set the fire at Clendenin, the store burned to the ground.
Spencer plead guilty to a one-count information charging her with maliciously destroying by fire a building used in interstate commerce.
