Oris D. Meadows, 87, of Creston, Wirt County, West Virginia, born February 2, 1920 went to be with the Lord at age 87 on July 19, 2007.
He was the son of the late Dwight and Etta Meadows. He was a WWII Veteran, a contracted mail carrier for thirty-eight years, and a member of the Cremo Community Church.
He is survived by five children, Roger and Larry Meadows both of Norton, Ohio; Patricia Nida, Peggy Hacker, and Maysel Miller all of Creston; one sister, Olga Ferrell of Big Bend, WV; twelve grandchildren, Roger Meadows Jr. and Aaron Meadows of Norton, OH, Kenneth Meadows of Barberton, OH, Belinda Scott of West Palm Beach, FL, Brett Meadows of Akron, OH, Collin Meadows of Orlando, FL, Peggy Piercy, and Christopher Hacker of Columbus, OH, Angela Nida of Charleston, WV, Stacy Cunningham of Parkersburg, WV, David Miller and Sierra Miller of Creston; and nine great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, of forty-two years, Sylvia Meadows in 1985, wife, Marie Meadows of twenty-two years in 2006; four brothers, Norville, Alva, Dwight,Jr., and Vandal Meadows; one sister, Opal Swihart; and one grandchild, Michael Hacker.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Darrell Mollohan will officiate. Interment will be in the McCray Cemetery at Creston.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. |
