Denzil L. Marks, 73, of Leroy, W.Va., died Sept. 16, 2001, at the Roane
General Hospital of Spencer, after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Spencer, son of Rev. Dorsey Marks of Orrville,
Ohio, and the late Sylvia Sawyer Marks, both formerly of Spencer. He retired
from Kellwood Company of Spencer, with 42 years of service; was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II; and enjoyed, hunting, fishing and camping. He
was a member of the Reedy Baptist Church and attended the Good Hope
Church also of Reedy.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Ada Young Marks; two
daughters and their husbands, Myra and Larry Quick of Leroy, and Deborah
and Woodrow Moss of Walker; son, Daniel L. Marks of Leroy; three brothers,
Albert Marks of Marshallville, Ohio, Ronald Marks of Seville, Ohio, and Gene
Marks of Cleveland, Ohio; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter,
Rebecca Ann Quick.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home of
Spencer, with the Rev. Leon Strickland and the Rev. John Bowen officiating.
Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 5-8 p.m.
today at the funeral home.
