| Fire erupted shortly before 6 a.m. this morning in at least one Spencer business, with several units of the Spencer-Roane VFD responding to the scene.
Firemen reported large billows of smoke erupting on their arrival at Floor 'n More on Arnoldsburg Rd., adjacent to a Laundromat and several other businesses
A fireman said "We have a working fire. It is a hot one."
Shortly after arrival officers said "We have pumpers on both sides of the building making an interior attack, still a lot of smoke coming out the top."
"The roof appears like it is about to collapse."
A short time later, firemen were ordered out of the building with the threat of the roof collapsing.
By 6:25 a.m. an officer said "Flames coming out the front and roof, fully involved," ordering two deck guns to be used on the blaze.
"We're protecting the buildings on either end."
Floor n' More is located in a business strip near Spencer's Foodland store.
The Clover VFD was also responding.
Floor 'n More is a carpet and floor covering business.
