| India Bates, 90, of Grantsville, West Virginia, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville.
She was born in Dryden New York a daughter of the late E. Dale and Bessie Blanchard Hunter. She was employed by Gherke's Department Store in Grantsville, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 56 of West Union, WV, a member of Stewart Chapel Church, Mt. Clara, WV, and was a member of Calhoun General Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Linda) Bates of Fort Worth, TX, Bruce (Jackie) Bates of Spencer, WV, and Liz Ferrell of Grantsville; 11 grandchildren, David (April) Bradley, and Sarah Bradley of Seminole, FL, Maria Bates of Tampa, FL, Rob (Shelly) Ferrell, Scott (Angela) Ferrell, and Rich Ferrell all of Grantsville, Nikki, Michael, and Ryan Bates of Spencer, Joe (Kristen) Chapman of Fort Worth, and Lori Bates; 4 great grandchildren, Brennen and Jaida Ferrell of Grantsville, Haley Chapman of Forth Worth, and Madysen Bradley of Seminole.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Don Bates, and an infant son, David Bates.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 25 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Lawson Whipkey will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clara, WV.
Visitation will be Monday two hours prior to the services.
