Donald Edward McKown, 61, of Murraysville, W.Va., died June 21, 2007, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was born June 29, 1945, in Canton, Ohio, to Gen. Harley and Inez Madge Houchin McKown.
Mr. McKown was a member of the Praise Cathedral in Ravenswood, where he served as maintenance elder. He was employed for 38 years at DuPont-Washington Works in Wood County, W.Va., beginning as a mechanic, machine shop foreman and ending in a supervisory capacity.
He was a past member of the Parkersburg South Jaycees, National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Grace Fetty McKown of Murraysville; daughter, Lisa Dawn McKown Kulick (John) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; son, Darren Edward McKown (Patty) of Heath, Ohio; mother, Inez Madge McKown of Minnora, W.Va.; sisters, Shirley Jett and husband, Calvin, of Doylestown, Ohio, and Karen Ellison and husband, Steve, of Minnora; and brothers, Bradley McKown and wife, Brenda, of Orma, W.Va., and Wendell McKown and wife, Chris, of Minnora. Donald was a much beloved papa to one granddaughter, one grandson and two stepgrandsons. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Praise Cathedral of Ravenswood with the Rev. Scott Dale officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Grantsville, W.Va. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. today at the Praise Cathedral on Elwood Street, Ravenswood.
