Dan C. Anderson of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, West Virginia.

Born October 5, 1921 in Millstone, Calhoun County, West Virginia. He was the youngest son of the late William (Bill) Thomas Anderson and Jessie Lynch Anderson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Andy, Cec, Wilson and Henry; sister, Phyllis and wife Jeanne VanHorn Anderson.

He is survived by his son, Mark E. Anderson of Reynoldsburg; two stepchildren, Ronald Crowder and Patricia Sherwood, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by two granddaughters, four step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.

During World War II Dan served in the 78th infantry and was later transferred to the 104th infantry to be with his brother Cec. He spent over 170 days on the front line and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was always proud to serve his country.

Dan always spoke fondly of West Virginia and family. In his younger years he worked with the family in the timber business and then after retiring from teaching in Florida, he returned to West Virginia to be in the oil and gas business.

Dan also loved the outdoors, fishing was his favorite pastime. In his later years he enjoyed going fishing with all his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the Sand Ridge United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Poland will officiate. Interment will be in the Sand Ridge Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by Spencer American Legion Post #21. Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg from 6 to 8 Thursday and one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
