GOOD WEATHER SMILING ON WOOD FEST - 45th Event Off To Roaring Start

The Calhoun County Committee on Aging Choir performs on giant Main Street stage Wednesday evening

Warm summer weather is shining on the 45th annual Wood Festival in Grantsville, with little indication of rain in the forecast.

On the giant Main Street stage, tonight's entertainment includes the Harmony Bluegrass Boys (5 p.m.) Mike Morningstar (9 p.m.).

Mister and Miss Woodchuck will be crowned at 7 p.m. with the presentation of Wood Festival Royalty.

There are dozens of specialty booths, crafts, gifts, novelty items and lots and lots of food.

Friday evening is the ATV Mud Bog at the Industrial Park, admission $5 adults, under five free.

Entertainment Friday evening on the giant Main Street stage includes Rock Hounds, Red Devil Dance Team, Karaoke with Toby Wagoner and Exxposure.

Saturday morning's kid events are scheduled at 10 a.m. with the Grand Parade kicking off at noon, with Heartwood in the Hills street performance at 12:30 p.m.

The Truck and Pro Mud Bog at the Industrial Park starts at 2 p.m. Adults $5, children under 5 free.

The giant fireworks display will be at 11 p.m.

Entertainment on the Main Street stage starts at 1 p.m. and concludes with the feature act, Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys starting at 9:30 p.m.
