ALCARAZ-MAY AND LAW CHS VALEDICTORIANS - Postalwait Named Salutatorian

Calhoun County Schools has named Amanda D. Alcaraz-May and Hanna D. Law as valedictorians and Jeremiah Postalwait as salutatorian for the Class of 2007 at Calhoun County High School.

They will be recognized during graduation exercises on Friday at 7 p.m.

Amanda Don Alcaraz-May - Valedictorian

Amanda (left) is the daughter of Gary and Veronica May of Arnoldsburg. Her high school activities include class treasurer, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Math Field Day, Governor's Honors Academy, Youth Advantage, and Know Your State Government Day.

She is a multiple art show winner and was awarded "Best of Show" in 2007. She placed first in the school talent show and is a Senior Youth Program semi-finalist. She has also volunteered during the Wood Festival and is church pianist.

Amanda will major in business administration and Spanish at Berea College in Kentucky where she has received a full four-year scholarship including tuition. She plans to go into hotel management.

Hanna Danielle Law - Valedictorian

Hanna (right) is the daughter of Danny and Alicia Law of Nobe. She is a National Merit Semi-finalist, Presidential Honor Roll, WV Golden Horseshoe Award, WV Promise Scholarship, WVU Mountaineer Scholarship, Bill Stemple Scholarship, Sam Walton Scholarship, Lions Club Scholarship, Hugh O'Bryant Youth Leadership, Know Your State Government Day, and Queen Flora XLIV.

Hanna's high school activities include National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Students for a Progressive Society, and Regional Math Field Day.

She will attend West Virginia University Honors College majoring in business and economics. Her career plans are undecided.

Jeremiah Richard Postalwait - Salutatorian

Jeremiah (left) of Arnoldsburg is the son of Kathy Goodrich and Dwight Postalwait. He will attend West Virginia Wesleyan College and major in computer science, philosophy and pre-law. He would like to become a lawyer or computer security specialist.

He has been involved in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Technical Honors Society, and Skills USA.

Jeremiah was named Who's Who Among High School Students, honor roll and Achievement Academy.
