MORE WV GUARD UNITS GOING TO IRAQ

(05/22/2007)
Another West Virginia National Guard unit has been re-activated for a second tour of duty in the mid-east.

About 100 members of the 111th Engineer Brigade out of Eleanor are leaving for Iraq in June.

The members will deploy overseas later this summer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom after some training at an Army mobilization station.

The 111th will be in charge of commanding smaller engineer battalions while in Iraq.

This is the units second mobilization since the terrorist attacks on America in 2001. The unit went to Kuwait in March 2003.
